SAN FRANCISCO, April 01, (THEWILL)  – The All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) Governorship Candidate in Abia State, Dr. Alex Otti, has condemned what he alleged as the manipulation of the Presidential and National Assembly Elections by the state chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), advising APGA supporters to remain calm.

In a statement on Wednesday, Otti assured that APGA would do everything to ensure that the votes of the Abian electorate count.

The statement reads: “Dear Abians. Let me start by thanking you for turning out in unprecedented numbers to support me and my party in the election of March 28th, 2015. During our various town hall meetings, you expressed deep worry concerning protection of your votes during this election. You were worried that PDP will do everything possible to make sure your votes do not count. Recall that we assured you that we would do everything we can to make sure your votes count.

“You spoke eloquently on March 28th during the election. You voted your conscience, you boldly started the process to change Abia for the better. You voted all APGA candidates for the Senate and House of Representatives. Today, I feel your disappointment as news begin to come in that your votes may not count because PDP in the state has manipulated the electioneering process in a desperate attempt to subvert the will of the Abia people.

“I wish to assure you the good people of Abia State that we will do our best to make sure that this does not happen. Your vote must count. It must count because it is your constitutional right to determine how you are represented and who represents you. We are working with relevant government agencies at the appropriate levels to ensure that the correct results are announced. I believe INEC is working hard to resolve the issues.

“I want to appeal to you to remain calm and law abiding while we continue to do whatever is necessary under the law to redress this obvious injustice. Your vote for our future and the future of our children must be made to count this time.

“Thank you for your continued support as we prepare for the coming election on April 11th, 2015. Please come out and vote for me and all APGA candidates and be rest assured that your vote must surely count.

“God bless you, God bless Abia State.”
