Lagos State Commissioner of Police, CP Kayode Aderanti, said, yesterday, that the presidential election held in the state last Saturday was violence free except for a few hitches by hoodlums who attempted to truncate the process.

Aderanti who spoke during the joint monitoring exercise by the Lagos State police and other security agencies to ensure a violence free accreditation and voting process across the state during the elections said he was impressed with the entire security situation. ”

The voters were orderly and conducted themselves properly, because they know this is the opportunity they have to vote for their choice representative. As you can see most of the areas that were monitored recorded no violence except for a few polling units in Lagos like Ayilara around Ojuelegba area that was attacked as hoodlums attempted to scuttle the process,” he said.

Taking off from the Lagos State Police Command, the security chiefs led by Commissioner of Police CP Kayode Aderanti boarded a chopper at the Police College in Ikeja to Badagry, Seme border Epe and Ikorodu to monitor the accreditation process.
