Adder Of Impeachment Is Hovering Over Adamawa House Of Assembly, Accusing Fintiri Of Plans To Remove Nggilari

Following the recent division in the Adamawa State House of Assembly,the premises in the early hours of today (Tuesday) is under locked and keys by the state police command following sinister moves by some lawmakers to impeach the speaker Honourable Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri.

Ailing members of the State Assembly made a move to oust the sitting speaker on allegation that their Speaker, Alhaji Ahmadu Fintiri, has commenced plot to impeach Gov Bala Nggilari

The 11 lawmakers after been prevented to carry out the impeachment plan addressing the press in Yola said since the emergence of Nggilari as substantive Governor of Adamawa, Fintiri who served as acting Governor was not happy and had been doing everything possible to frustrate the governor leader causing frosty relationship with the executive and the legislature.

" Our speaker has already initiated impeachment proceedings against the Governor.

" Since Nggilari became the Governor of Adamawa, Fintiri has refuse to take us to him to pay our respect", Kundisi said.

Kundisi who was flanked by 10 other lawmakers also accused the speaker of planning to suspend some of them for distancing themselves from his plan to impeach the governor.

He also said the Speaker of working for the opposition party alleging that he was supporting SDP candidate for Adamawa North Senatorial District and that he has not been participating in PDP campaigns in the state.

Reacting to the development, the Speaker, Ahmadu Fintiri, described the allegation as baseless.

The spokesman of the House Honourable Adamu Kamale said that after the failed attempt by the lawmakers to impeach the speaker they hurriedly went to the government house to hold press conference.

He maintained that Governor Nggilari sponsored the impeachment of the speaker by dolled out N200million to the eleven law makers.

Kamale accused the governor of perpetrating ant-party activities by recruited members of opposition parties to remove the speaker.
