It was an epoch making event on Tuesday 24th February, 2015, this is the first time that Depot community Osisioma in conjunction with Imo residents in Abia State hosted a gubernatorial candidate of a political party. The Imo State gubernatorial candidate of Peoples Party of Nigeria (PPN) Chief Lawrence Kanu (Chairman Lukan oil and gas), he was accompanied by his running mate, stakeholders and both the National and state officers of the Peoples Party of Nigeria (PPN). Chief Lawrence Kanu was given a royal reception at the Peoples Club of Nigeria int'l Aba branch Osisioma, Abia State. Peoples club Osisioma has overflow of Imo state indigenes who came from all the nooks and crannies of Abia State to pledge their overwhelming supports to their illustrious son who is from orlu senatorial District, Imo State.

Different groups also came to identify themselves with Chief Lawrence Kanu totaling over 3,500 people in attendance for the reception of chief Kanu. A political stalwart from owerri zone, Hon. Cyril Kelechi said '' Imo State politics has gone beyond political party affiliations, Imolites are after a credible candidate who will put Imo State first and make Imo State his utmost priority, Chief Lawrence Kanu is a man of sound character and he is principled, so he is worthy of our votes to be the next Executive governor of Imo State so as to save Imo state from infrastructure and human degradation”.

Chief Lawrence Kanu presented his blue prints to his teeming supporters saying ”Governor Rochas has done his best but his best is not good enough for Imo State and I'm in this race so as to redeem Imo State, to restore the lost glory of the state, to deliver to the Imolites the dividend of democracy, attract both local and foreign investors, rehabilitate dilapidated roads and also construct standard new roads, making sure that every sector of the economy is functional, quality free education to the good people of Imo State, youths empowerment and job opportunities for the Imolites”.

Chief Lawrence Kanu in conclusion said to his supporters just give me your votes, so together we can achieve the Imo State of our dreams.
