Boko Haram: Useni Seeks Intensive Border Control

The former minister of the Federal Capita Territory, Lt.-Gen. Jeremiah Huseni (rtd) has said that the only way the Boko Haram insurgents can be defeated, is by taking stringent measures on the nations broader so as to checkmate the illegal influx of people from the neighbouring countries. He advised President Goodluck Jonathan to equip the military with sophisticated weapons to enable them flush out BokoHaram insurgents before the commencement of the forthcoming general elections.
The (rtd) general who made the call recently in an interview with The UNION in Lafia, the Nasarawa State capital however, the military to live up to expectation and ensure that the insurgents stop terrorizing the nation's territories. On the allegations that the military might stage a coup and takes over the government if the Independent National Electoral Commission(INEC) failed to conduct free, fair and credible elections, he said, “I don't think that is true and if the military wants to change government they can change it and it dose need to wait for anybody.”
On the prediction by the United States and other developed countries that Nigeria might disintegrate in 2015, he said, “No no; don't mind them, that is nonsense, Nigeria will not disintegrate God is with us.” “We are very good at crisis management we will manage ourselves,” he added.
