21 FUEL-LADEN SHIPS ARRIVE LAGOS PORTS
Twenty-one ships laden with fuel are waiting to berth at the Lagos ports, the News Agency of Nigeria reported on Thursday.
The shipping position released by the Nigerian Ports Authority in Lagos on Thursday, showed that 16 of the ships are carrying petrol while five are laden with aviation fuel and kerosene.
The destination Ports in Lagos are the Lagos Port Complex and the Tin-Can Island port.
NAN reported that five other bulk cargo ships were waiting to discharge their cargoes.
One of the ships, MV BBC Konan, has 51 trucks on board, while other ships carry bulk wheat and empty containers.
The ports would be busy this month as a total of 106 vessels are being expected.
Top on the list are 30 container-laden ships, an indication that APM Terminals in Apapa, which handles 75 per cent of container imports in the country, will have a lot of work to do.
Nineteen ships laden with new and fairly-used vehicles are also being expected at the ports in April.
