MUSA, OWOERI IMPRESS LAGERBACK

The Super Eagles team B's loss to less fancied Menas of Niger Republic was not entirely a disappointment as the Technical Adviser of the Super Eagles, Lars Lagerback, was able to identify some players who he hopes to invite for the World Cup camp.

According to one of Lagerback's aid, the Swede was sad that the team had to exit the way it did but that he took solace in the fact that he was able to discover some players that would be given trial to see if they could make the World Cup bound Eagles squad.

Daily SunSport gathered that Lagerback, who watched the match at the Sani Abacha Stadium, was impressed by the quartet of Ahmed Musa, John Owoeri , Solomon Okpako and Ibenegbu Ikechukwu who dazzled at the match.

`Lagerback was full of praises for the players and felt John Owoeri and Ibenegbu should have started the match and he said the match would not have ended in a barren draw. He had earlier pencilled high-scoring Kano Pillars' midfielder, Ahmed Musa when he watched the team's last training session before the game against Niger.

`I think Lagerback has included the four players in his list and has directed that we should watch out for more players from the local league. The players would be called up after he studies their dossier. It is something positive that, at least, he identified some players but bad that the players most Nigerians have been clamouring for, Chibuzor Okonkwo failed to impress and even lost a penalty kick to worsen his case` our source said.
