Apc Delta Governorship Rally Records Huge Success In Sapele, Ughelli.
As politicians all over the country are stepping up their campaigns, the Delta State All Progressives Congress (APC), gubernatorial candidate, Olorogun O'tega Emerhor, has vowed not to leave the state without turning it around if elected as Governor, adding that it was high time Nigerians kicked PDP out of the governance.
Emerhor, while addressing his teeming supporters at a Mega rally in Sapele reminded the people of the ancient town that it was the People's Democratic Party that brought them to this state of economic slavery, charging them not to allow this opportunity of changing their lives pass them by.
He promised to use his wealth of experience as a successful and financially disciplined businessman to turn the fortune of the state around. He said the ruling party's government officials have continued to use the People's wealth to enrich themselves at the detriment of the people, adding that he will make sure that the people reclaim their rights as citizens of the country.
The APC gubernatorial candidates charged the people of Sapele to arm themselves with their Permanent Voter's Cards (PVCs), saying it is their power to change the unscrupulous government of the day. He said if voted into power, his government will ensure that women and youths in the state are empowered to create employment for themselves.
Emerhor noted that President Goodluck Jonathan has failed to improve theliving condition of majority of Nigerians and those of the good people in the Niger Delta area where he hails from. He therefore called on Deltans to vote General Mohammadu Buhari in the Presidential elections come February 14, stressing that Buhari will rescue Nigeria from the socio-economic backwardness brought about by the misrule and acute corruption of the ruling party.
He highlighted that he is going to turnaround the economy of the state by making each local government area a focal point for development, adding that if each of the local government councils were developed, prosperity will be felt all over the state.
He said he will beam his searchlight on education, roads, hospitals, schools and employment of the unemployed youth in the state. He added that the funds that will be made available in each local government area will be used as loans for the women and youth in the state, adding that he will engage the services of experts who will advice the youth on the kind of business to do.
He said: "For sixteen years PDP has been suffering us. They did not give you food. They did not give you water to drink. The market women don't have good markets to go to. We don't have good schools to send our children to. Our roads are all bad. There is suffering everywhere. PDP is a suffering party. We must say bye bye to PDP."
Chief Ede Dafinone, Chief Frank Kokori and other prominent APC party Chieftains who graced the rally called on the people of Sapele and Deltans to vote for all APC candidates in the upcoming elections.
In a related development, the Otega4Governor Campaign train received a crucial boost on Tuesday at the Ughelli Township Stadium, venue of the Mega rally, as thousands of supporters of the Governorship candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Olorogun O'tega Emerhor went wild with jubilation at the news that the Urhobo Progressive Union (UPU) has endorsed Emerhor as their gubernatorial candidate for the February 28 election.
The stadium which was jam packed with different support groups from all over the three Senatorial Districts of the state could not hide their joy when the APC governorship candidate announced to them that the new President General of UPU, Chief Tuesday Onoge has endorsed him as their candidate.
Emerhor told the excited supporters at the rally that with UPU behind him the coast is now clear for him to fly the flag of the Urhobos in particular and the state in general calling on all sons and daughters of Urhobo Kingdom to come out en-mass and make sure that an Urhobo son becomes the next Governor of the state.
He assured the people of the state that he is going to create industries in every local government area which will take care of the massive unemployment level in the state. He said apart from creating industries he is going to ensure that women and youth are empowered to start their own small businesses through easy access to small loans, for which the sum of N10 billion (ten billion naira) will be sources and disbursed within his first one hundred days in office, if elected.
Emerhor who is a member of the Order of the Niger (OON) assured the people of Delta State that his state wide industrialization programme will be anchored on the revival of existing moribund public and private industries to pave way for economic development, jobs creation and human capital development.
He further added that the 10 billion naira that will be set aside as business and business support loans to the youth and women will be made available in all the local government council areas of the state, stressing that anybody can have access to the financial assistance without the usual collateral demanded by banks.
He added that they must sweep the ruling party out of government to create room for fresh people with fresh ideas saying that the needed change in the country will only come when those that have occupied government for the past nearly two decades without proof of genuine development and job creation are voted out of office.
He noted that Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan has turned the state to a construction site for the past eight years without completing a single project pointing out that Governor Uduaghan is leaving the state worst than he met it. The APC gubernatorial candidate said it is only the APC that can bring about massive development to the state without necessarily wasting government funds on white elephant projects.
Emerhor said he is going to make Delta state a model through purposeful leadership anchored on public/private collaboration that will encourage investors to come to the state to do profitable business thereby creating thousands of jobs for a young school leavers and graduates. He said the environment has to be made secured for investors to come in, stressing that it is the business of government of any country or state to create the enabling environment that will attract foreign investors.
The Delta State APC governorship hopeful appealed to Deltas to have their Permanent Voter's Card (PVC) handy and should not sell their PVCs to anybody that offered them money because it is their most powerful tool to make a change in the state.
