Following the recently voiced threats by unknown faces to turn President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan's campaign in Bayelsa State into mayhem, the State Commissioner of Police, CP Valentine Ntomchukwu, has warned all miscreants to stay off as the police is 100% ready to accommodate the president.

The CP stated this during a stakeholders forum which was organized by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) at the premises of the Bayelsa State Chapter of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) on the 29th day of January 2015.

CP Ntomchukwu noted with confidence that President Jonathan's coming into the state on the 5th of February will not be for the purpose of campaigning but also a home visit, that they have put every measure in place to make sure there is no cause for alarm.

According to him, the police is already trailing those who made those negative utterances, that they are not going to take it likely with them. He also said that the police is very much prepared and committed to the security and welfare of Bayelsans in the forthcoming general elections.

Speaking earlier, the Bayelsa State Resident Electoral Commissioner, Hon. Baritor Kpagih, noted that the general elections are just at the corner and urged all those who registered for their PVCs in 2011 to ensure to collect their cards before the election day.

He noted that INEC alone cannot be able to ensue the free, credible and fair elections for which it was set up, calling on all hands to be on deck and help in whatever ways they could to make sure that the vote of every Bayelsan counts.
