A big boost Tuesday came the way of President Goodluck Jonathan as Eze Ndigbo in the 19 northern states endorsed him for the February 14 presidential election.

The leaders of Ndigbo in the 19 northern states
urged Ndigbo in the states to “support the …re-election of President Goodluck Azikiwe Ebele Jonathan for continuity of the transformation agenda of the federal government.

At a packed press conference Tuesday in Abuja, Chief Pampers Nwahiwe, Eze Igbo Niger, who read the communique on behalf of all the Eze Ndigbo, said they had mobilized their kinsmen “to get their PVCs

for the forthcoming general elections.”
The traditional fathers urged “all Igbos nationwide to remain in their various states of abode during and after the forthcoming election,” stressing, “this country belongs to all of us.”

They, however, urged the “federal government to provide adequate security for all during the elections,” and appealed to all Nigerians to “work for a violence-free electoral process in 2015.”
