Pdp Threatens Reprisal Against Apc Over Destruction Of Its Campaign Materials
The Rivers State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP is appalled over incessant destruction of its campaign materials, particularly that of the Governorship Candidate, Barr Nyesom Wike by members of the All Progressives Congress, APC.
The Chairman of the PDP in Rivers State, Bro Felix Obuah made the comment while reacting to the arrest by the Police of some members of the APC while moving round the State destroying campaign materials of the PDP and that of its Governorship candidate, Barr Nyesom Wike.
Those arrested, who said they are members and agents of the APC and working for the Governorship candidate, Mr Dakuku Peterside confessed to the Police that they were on a mission to destroy PDP campaign materials, particularly that of Barr Nyesom Wike, Rivers State PDP Governorship candidate and also that of President Goodluck Jonathan.
Among those arrested yesterday by the police were Amadi Wenedah and Amadi ThankGod from Aluu in Ikwerre Local Government Area of Rivers State, the LGA of the outgoing Governor, Rotimi Amaechi. Others according to police source are still at large.
It is therefore, deeply regrettable that Mr Dakuku Peterside who sacrilegiously and offensively displays billboards bearing pictures he took kneeling down in his home, making people believe those pictures were taken in the Church and pretends to be a Christian could encourage the destruction of Barr Nyesom Wike's billboards, posters, banners and other campaign materials.
Also yesterday, members of the APC in Jos, went after campaign buses of President Goodluck Jonathan and all other branded buses with the logo of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, vandalizing them, before setting them ablaze.
The PDP therefore, warns members of the APC and its governorship candidate in Rivers State, Mr Dakuku Peterside to desist forthwith, from destroying its campaign materials and that of Barr Wike and other candidates of the party or face an aggressive reprisal from members of the PDP across the State.
