An open letter to all 2015 presidential candidates includingPresident Jonathan, Gen Buhari, and others

By Abitunde Taiwo

Dear President Jonathan, Gen Buhari, and other presidential candidates,

I am writing to you to please instruct your economic advisers to come up with a plan expeditiously, if they have not already done so, to fund the operations of the federal government of Nigeria after the swearing-in- ceremony in 2015.

Such a plan should be made available to the general public for scrutiny before the 2015 elections.

All presidential candidates must perish the thought of intending to continue to use the oil revenues of the Southsouth to fund the federal government.

For over 50 years, the oil producing states have been plundered and exploited by the federal, state, and local governments. Social justice demands that it must stop in 2015.

Nigeria, a country with a GDP of over $500 billion US dollars can raise revenues by other means and from other sources to run the federal government.

It is your responsibility, with the support of your team of advisers, to find the ways and means to do this and to present it for scrutiny and acceptance or rejection by the electorate.

It is immoral and unjust for the exploitation of our brothers and sisters in the oil producing states to be allowed to continue. Enough is Enough.

Thank you very much for your prompt attention to this important moral issue.

Sincerely,

Abitunde Taiwo
