Adeyeye Eulogices HID Awolowo At 99, Says "She Is Conscience Of Yoruba Nation"

The Minister of State for Works, Prince Adedayo Adeyeye has eulogised has described the matriarch of the Awolowo family and the Yeye Oodua of Yorubaland, Chief Hannah Idowu Dideolu Awolowo, on her 99 birthday, describing her as the "conscience and Oodua nation."

Adeyeye, in his congratulatory message to HID on her 99th birthday on Monday, said he was particularly happy that in spite of the challenges of her age, mama has remained unwavered in her commitment to the unity and progress of the Yoruba race.

He said; “Mama is a pride to those of us who are real disciples of Baba Awolowo. She is a pride to the entire Yoruba race.

"She is more than a jewel to us and we shall continue to hold her in very high esteem.

“Her untiring efforts at building and sustaining the unity of the Yoruba nation and ensuring its worthy pride of place within the context of Nigeria's federal structure is commendable.

“No doubt, Chief Obafemi Awolowo will be happy that he left behind a worthy matriarch, who has remained a jewel of inestimable value to the entire Yoruba race and Nigeria in general.

“Therefore, as she we all celebrate the attainment of 99 years by this worthy mother of the nation of Oodua, I wish Mama a most glorious 99th birthday anniversary."
