Governor of Imo State and presidential aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief Rochas Okorocha said yesterday that he will be president of Nigeria in 2015.

He said the PDP has “failed God”, stressing that “God has decided to abandon the party for good”.

Okorocha said he joined the APC as a result of plethora of injustices being suffered by Ndigbo in Nigeria, saying that he would liberate Ndigbo.

Speaking during the first southeast zonal rally of the party held in Enugu, Okorocha said he would not have joined APC “if the PDP has been good to Ndigbo. If the PDP has shown that Ndigbo was an integral part of the country”.

He alleged that the PDP leaders have always cared for themselves alone and rejecting the poor in the country, stressing that APC emerged to salvage the people.

He said: “APC is an emergency party for new Nigeria. It emerged because of the level of injustice going on in Nigeria.

The people have suffered great oppression in the last fifteen years and now, we want our liberation.

“I have always stood for the oppressed, I have always remembered and cared for them even when I was not governor. Rochas Okorocha foundation has over 12,000 students whom I pay their school fees and feed. I want to be president of Nigeria for the sake of downtrodden, my people have been so oppressed” . He called on people of the southeast to “reject” the PDP, explaining that the “party has failed God”. Also speaking, senator Chris Ngige asked the party members to continue to support APC.

He insisted that it was not going to be easy for the party next year being a new party and added that he was confident the party would win.
