PDP Ward Congress: Akala At It Again, disrupts Oyo ward Congresses.

‎Today's ward congresses of the People's Democratic Party PDP in Oyo State has been characterised by disruptions led by the former Governor of Oyo State, Mr. Adebayo Alao Akala.

Akala who have been making serious effort to divert electoral materials brought by the members of the PDP Panel resorted to the use of thugs to hijack the process when his overtures to members of the committee failed.

As the Congress panel members were about to commence distribution of voting materials to the Returning Officers for each of the 33 local governments across the State, former governor Alao Akala arrived the scene. He was followed by a motorcycle convoy. His arrival caused commotion with the thugs riding on the motorcycles, storming the PDP secretariat complex and carting away all the voting materials meant for the Congress.

Though the Congress Panel has yet to react officially at the time of filing this report, it is assumed that the Congress is cancelled

Some witnesses have criticized Akala's conduct and asked for his expulsion from the Party. It's the second ‎interruption to the voting process following his behaviors at the recent PDP Zonal Congress.
