2015: Let the will of the people prevail—-Mark

As the campaign for the 2015 election gathers momentum, President of the Senate, Senator David Mark, has again urged Nigerians to comply with the tenets of democracy and allow the will of the people prevail .

The will of the people, Senator Mark stressed implies that the people have the right to choose their leaders or representatives at all levels.

Addressing Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)  faithful at his Otukpo Ward 1 in Benue state at the party ward congress, Senator Mark added that only  a free, fair and credible election can guarantee a sustainable democracy .

Senator Mark maintained that politics is all about people and therefore the people should be free to decide which way to go .

He gave reasons for his bid to return to the Senate in 2015 as the answer to the demands by his constituents stressing, “it is not for me as David Mark but the interest and the wellbeing of the Idoma nation .

“Given another opportunity in the Senate, I will continue to do only those things that will bring honour and dignity to every Idoma and woman. I will do the needful as a responsible citizen of Nigeria . I will strive to ensure that no one is marginalized or shortchanged in the scheme of things.”.

Senator Mark was pleased about the smooth conduct of the ward congress in his constituency, pointing out that “it is a family affair in which party members agreed on consensus.”

He prayed that subsequent exercises would be peaceful and urged leaders to provide a level playing ground  for all.

Welcoming party members to the congress, PDP ward chairman, Sunday Ochinta  and party Elder, Barry Idoga thanked party faithful for the smooth and peaceful conduct of the exercise and expressed appreciation to the Senate President for providing  the needed leadership. 

The duo listed the projects attracted to the constituency by the Senate president to include but not limited to the National Open University of Nigeria( NOUN) , Otukpo study centre, the College of Medical Sciences campus of the University of Agriculture, Otobi water dam as well as Agatu/ Oweto bridge.

All these, they said earned Senator Mark the leadership of Idoma nation and beyond.
