New Ghanaian movie ‘Double Cross’ premieres in London this Friday, 31st October at the Odeon Greenwich.


DBF PRODUCTION in association with SCREENNATION, DJAMEDIA and BREAKTHROUGH MEDIA PRODUCTIONS presents the UK Premiere of the must watch Ghanaian romantic thriller DOUBLE-CROSS. The movie which was shot in Ghana stars Award Winning actress Ama K. Abebrese; Ghanaian/Nollywood movie superstar John Dumelo, multi award winning actor Adjetey Anang, alongside Jasmine Baroudi, Paulina Oduro and veteran actor Samuel Odoi-Mensah. The movie is directed by prolific director Pasacal Aka and produced by D R Kufuor and Ama K Abebrese. To end Black History month celebrations in the UK, the night of October 31st will be a glitzy red carpet event to showcase the best of African cinema. The event is hosted by Capital Xtra's Abrantee, also in attendance will be the stars of the movie as well as a host of Nollywood and African as well as UK based celebrities including veteran Ghanaian actor Kofi Adjorlolo, UK actor Chucky Venn, actress Ellen Thomas, hiplife musicians Atumpan, Mensa and many more. The night ends with an After Party on the Boat at Tereza Joanne in collaboration with West Coast UK. The event is done in partnership with ABN Television and Rainbow Radio.

There will be a Ghanaian and Nigeria premiere that will take place soon.

The story goes Effie Howard's (Ama K. Abebrese) life is dramatically turned upside down when her fiancé Ben Boateng (Adjetey Anang) is convicted and sentenced for a crime he did not commit. Determined to prove his innocence; she carried out her own investigation and finds the actual robber; Danny Frimpong (John Dumelo). She threatens him but offers him a deal; to rob the bank again with similar methods. They are successful in the robbing the bank, Effie now sets her sights on a jewellery warehouse and she wants Danny to rob it. With a lot of jewellery and money at stake, each one of them tries to outwit each other with medleys of smart thinking as they plan and execute the robberies, but no amount of careful planning or expertise can prepare them for the dangerous enemy, an enemy Effie least expected and never saw coming with surprising twist.
