Soldier Runs Amok, Kills Colleague In Bayelsa


Though details of the fatal incident were still sketchy when filing this report, the killing, according to a reliable source,  happened around  11pm on Monday night at Olopa Junction, near the Bayelsa State Government House,  where the two soldiers were attached.

“The soldier shot his colleague and the colleague died instantly… Superior officers said he was drunk at the time. But the soldier has been remanded in the police cell. But the identities of the deceased and his killer were not yet known.

'But they were attached to the police station in Olopa junction close to Bayelsa State Government House,” the source told THEWILL.

Spokesperson of the State Police Command, Mr. Alex Akhigbe, confirmed the killing saying further details on the matter should be sourced from the military.
