A leading aspirant for the Akinyele/Lagelu Federal Constituency seat in 2015 on the platform of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Hon. Olayinka Oladimeji Segelu has described the death of his campaign coordinator in Akinyele Local Government Area, Hon. Oludele Peter Ilori as shocking and sad.

A statement by Hon. Segelu indicates that Ilori, a grassroots politician and former councilor, who is believed to have played major role in the growth and development of the PDP at the local level, died on Monday at the University College Hospital, UCH, Ibadan, after a brief illness.

The House of Representatives hopeful noted that the demise of Ilori has created a great vacuum that will be difficult to fill, adding that those he left behind must leave no stone unturned to ensure that his dream and aspirations are not allowed to die with him.

Describing Ilori as a committed and focused politician, Hon. Segelu said: “As we (the people of Akinyele/Lagelu constituency) mourn his (Ilori) death, we cannot allow his unflinching dream and struggle for a better society to die with him. We must continue to uphold his ideals and the good things he stood for as a leading member of our great party, the PDP at the grassroots.”

The late Oludele Peter Ilori, a graduate of University of Ibadan (UI) attended Aponmode High School, Moniya, Ibadan. He was once the councilor of Ward 1, Akinyele Local Government Area in Oyo state.
