Ofili Commences Final Journey, As Uduaghan, Others Attends Service Of Songs

THE Governor of Delta State, Dr Emmanuel Uduaghan led top members of his

executuve council including his wife, Rolli and his Deputy, Prof. Amos

Utuama (SAN) to attend the service of songs for late Hon. Sunny Ofili

whose final journey to the greater beyond commenced yesterday evening.

Hon. Ofili who untill his death, was the Special Adviser to the Governor

on Information Communication Technology (ICT) was aged 46 years.  The

service of songs took place at the Ofili's family compound at

Issele-Azagba, Aniocha North Local Government Area of Delta State.

Bishop Ken Ebolum of Dominion Christian Centre, said, service of songs was

necessary to worship God for the passage from God's family on earth to

join God's family in heaven.
According to him, “the significance of service of songs is a chance to

worship God for one of us who have gone to join the family in heaven,”

stating, “Hon. Ofili has joined the service of God in heaven.”

He added that “service of songs is to prepare us for the last day,”

observing that it was important for Christians should always prepare for

the last day.
Bishop Ebolum asserted that service of songs “Iis a time to consider and

ask, God,  am I ready? we should know that no death is glorious”.

The younger brother to the late Ofili,  Mr Odika Ofili took the first

reading and the Special Adviser on Legal Matters, Barr. Andrew Odum took

the second reading at the occasion.
Prayers were offered for the repose of the soul of the late Ofili, the

state and individuals at the service which was also attended by the former

Deputy Governor of the state, Chief Benjamin Elue, former Speaker of the

Delta State House of Assembly,  Rt. Hon. Victor Ochei,  among others.

Today, a valedictory session will hold at the Unity Hall, Government

House, Asaba from 8 am while a funeral service will hold from 10 am at the

Dominion Christian Centre, Asaba.
