PDP Thrives On Lawlessness €“ Ajomale

Chairman, All Progressives Congress, APC, Lagos State Chapter, western Nigeria, Otunba Henry Ajomale, has accused the state chapter of the Peoples' Democratic Party, PDP, of planning to throw the state into chaos in a desperate bid to rule Lagos in 2015.

The Lagos APC chairman said that  in preparation for the next year's elections, the PDP is wooing commercial motorcycle riders in the state with brand new motorcycles which will encourage them to flout the state's traffic laws.

“We are aware of their moves but the major problem is that the same people who want to capture the government in Lagos are encouraging lawlessness. When they get into government, how would they want to rule?

“Their action did not surprise us. If one of them could give people money and then compel the benefactors to swear to an oath inside a coffin, it shows how desperate they can be. We are warning them not to throw Lagos into chaos because the law is there to protect every resident of the state,” Ajomale said.

The diplomat-turned politician regretted that while his party was trying to save lives of Lagosians and Nigerians in general, the PDP is busy promoting premature deaths by encouraging Okada riders to operate on the highways.

Chief Ajomale reiterated that the traffic law which restricted the Okada riders to some roads, which is only four per cent of the number of roads in the state, was primarily made in the interest of the people.

He said the law was made to ensure the safety of lives of the citizens, adding that statistics have shown how many lives have been saved since the law was introduced in 2012.

Meanwhile, during a meeting with motorcycle operators at the APC Secretariat at Acme Road, Ogba,  Lagos  on Thursday, Otunba Ajomale advised them not to turn themselves into political tools and be led to perpetrate lawlessness.

He assured them that the state House of Assembly is planning to review some of the restricted roads they can ply in the state.
