BOKO HARAM: JAIZ BANKDONATES RELIEF MATERIALS WORTH N10 MILLION

Jaiz foundation the social responsibility arm of Jaiz Bank has donated relief materials worth N10 million to the victims of Boko Haram insurgency in Borno.

Delivering the materials to the Borno state Governor, Hon. Kashim Shettima at the Government House Maiduguri, the Branch Manager Jaiz Bank Maiduguri Alhaji BabaAli Bukar Petrol said the donation is part of corporate social responsibility of the bank.

'your resolve to tackle the insecurity in the state and assisting the citizens of Borno state to rebuild their livelihood and strengthening their productive capacity is commendable, we therefore, appeal to you to continue the good works you are doing to the people of the state despite the security challenges,' the manger stated.

He said 'as captain of the ship you have sailed through rough waters and had taken the momentum to rise above board in providing succour and hope for the people and Jaiz bank is ready to identify with you to move the state forward'.

The items donated are 200 bags of grains, 1,600 pieces of clothing materials for both men and women, 660 gallons of groundnut oils among others.

Receiving the relief materials on behalf of the Borno state government, Governor Kashim Shettima thanked the management and staff of Jaiz foundation for what he described as 'monumental gesture'.

He said Jaiz bank and Dangote foundation have always identified with government and the people of Borno state since the insurgency and assured them that the materials will be distributed to victims in order to alleviate their sufferings, especially during the Ramadan.

The governor also assured the bank of the state government's readiness to continue to identify with the Bank and called on other institutions and corporate bodies to emulate Jaiz and Dangote foundations.
