A 43-year-old man, Dada Olalekan, on Friday asked an Ado-Ekiti Customary Court to dissolve his 15-year-old marriage to his wife, Bosede, accusing her of frequent fighting and unwillingness to work.

Olalekan said that though he asked Bose to learn any trade of her choice, she ignored his advice and chose to be jobless.

He added that he paid some money for her apprenticeship but she complained about the work and left the place without his consent.

The father of five further told the court that whenever he gave the wife money to cook for him and the children, she would prepare the food late.

According to him, the developments usually lead to incessant fighting.

He also said that his wife did not have respect for him and often failed to listen to his advice.

Responding, Bose,36, accused her husband of calling his concubines on phone in her presence, explaining that such action was always causing them to fight.

She said she had not been disrespecting the husband and never failed to cook for him and the children, adding that he was always returning home late.

She explained that she was once doing business and taking care of the family until she spent all the money and became joblessness.

The president of the court, Mr Joseph Ogunsemi, after hearing the submissions of the two parties, adjourned the case until July 21for judgment.
