Lagos National Assembly Members Endorse Ambode as next Lagos Governor

On the sideline of the APC national convention, National Assembly members from Lagos state had a closed door session with APC

governorship aspirant in Lagos, Mr. Akin Ambode on Thursday evening at a conference room  inside House of Representatives complex, Abuja.

 
The members engaged Ambode in a rigorous cross examination where Akin Ambode also seized the opportunity to inform the Lagos reps members about his vision for Lagos state. At the end of pre-primary election meeting the reps members declared their support for Ambode. The governorship hopeful also promised to compliment the giant stride of the incumbent governor, Babatunde Fashola he once served.

 
The meeting hosted by APC National leader and head of opposition in the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila who also until the time the party announced it had zoned the governorship seat to Lagos East where Ambode belong also targeted same Lagos governorship seat.

 
Members at the pre-primary election endorsement are Hon Abayomi Ayeola, Hon Babatunde Adewale, Hon Hakkem Muniru, Hon Abiodun Faleke, Hon Aliu Kazeem, Hon Yakub Balogun, Hon. rafeequat Onabamiro, Hon Femi Gbajabiamila, Mr. Akin Ambode, Hon Jumoke Okoya-Thomas, Hon Samuel Adejare, Hon Adeola Solomon, Hon Toyin Suarau, Hon. Jide Akinloye, Hon. Ganiyu Olukolu, Hon. Abayomi Ogunnusi.

 
One of the members at the meeting disclosed that the endorsement by the National Assembly members does not exclude Ambode from participating in a free and fair primary election of the party.

 
Ambode had met with market leaders in Lagos state and also expected to meet with Senators from Lagos state soon.

 
The first public endorsement of Ambode came from Oba of Lagos, Rilwan Akiolu some weeks ago at the launch of Akin Ambode's autobiography, Art of Selfless Service in Lagos
