Nigeria: Bomb Blast Kills Over 40 At Soccer Game

SAN FRANCISCO, June 01, (THEWILL) â€' Suspected terrorists targeted soccer fans watching a football match at a field in Mubi, Adamawa State, on Sunday evening killing at least 40 persons.

According to a report in the AFP, a policeman who asked not to be named said the number could rise.

However, Reuters quoted sources as saying that the victims had been watching a televised match.

Adamawa is one of the three states in north eastern Nigeria where the federal government declared a state of emergency as the military continues to battle radical Islamic insurgents.
