Senators meet Chinese counterparts on inter- Parliamentary cooperation.

President of the Senate Senator David Mark and some Senators will today (09/05/14)  leave for the Peoples Republic of China on the invitation of the  Chinese  Parliament.

The President of the Chinese Parliament and Chairman of the country's ruling party, National People's Congress (NPC) of China, Zhang Dejiang and his colleagues will play host to their Nigerian counterparts in Beijing .

Mark is leading Senators Ganiyu Solomon( Minority whip), Helen Esuene (Chairman,Senate committee on Women Affairs), Garba Babayo Gamawa( Vice Chairman Aviation), Isa Mohammed Galaudu (Vice Chairman, Banking) Sonni Ogbuoji (Vice Chairman, Appropriation) and Ibrahim  Saminu Turaki to the inter-Parliamentary parley.

The Parliamentarians will hold talks on inter- Parliamentary cooperation  and the place of the legislature in strengthening and deepening democracy especially between the two countries.

Senator Mark had in September 2013 played host to the President of the Chinese Senate Zhang Dejiang in Abuja during which the latter extended invitation for him to  visit China to further the  inter-parliamentary  cooperation between the two nations.

Senator Mark and his colleagues are expected back in Abuja on Thursday next week.
