Nigerian international music act, Nneka Egbuna, who is currently one of the judges at the ongoing Nigerian Idol season 4, has expressed her dissatisfaction over the contestants that made the top 12.

According to the conscious artiste, she stated that the current top 12 finalists have connections and as such, got people who could recharge well to vote for them.

“Most of the contestants, who have been able to make it to the top so far, are people who are well connected. They have people who can vote recharge and vote for them,. the singer told Punch in an interview”

Nneka added that the competition has been based on connection and sympathy, while the contestant with good qualities are sent packing.

"I was so shocked the other week when those who I considered to be talented weren't voted for. They didn't make it to the top 12 of the show," Nneka expressed shock.

The quality of winner being produced from some talent hunt shows have been put into question by some Nigerians. It is believed that most organisers of these competitions focus more on brand value rather than talents.
