Mimiko, Engr. Jide Adeniji To Storm OAU For Nigerian OSCAR Awards

At Obafemi Awolowo University, April 17th is going to be one of a kind with several guests, artistes, comedians, dancers, captains of industry, and media personalities will be on ground to grace the Outstanding Students' Choice Awards of Recognition ceremony organized by the National Association of Campus Journalists as part of programs lined up for her 2nd International Campus Journalists Conference.

Ondo State Governor, Dr. Olusegun Mimiko -- a former Speaker of the Students' Representative Council of OAU Students' Union -- will powerfully land on OAU campus not only to be the Special Guest of Honour at the event, but also to bag an award as the 'Person of the Year'.

In the same vein, the Chairman of FERMA, Engr. Jide Adeniji, and the Ondo State First Lady, Mrs. Olukemi Mimiko will both be awarded OSCAR Alumnus and Alumna of the Year, respectively.

The good-natured and urbane Vice Chancellor of the university, Prof. Bamitale Omole will be the Chief Host of the event.

An insider in the organizing team who prefers anonymity told Insider News that the Prof Bamitale Omole will be decorated the Best Vice Chancellor in Nigeria by Ecstasy International, a strong sponsor of the event.

Other top guests expected to be at the event include, Kenny Ogungbe, Osita Iheme, Funso Adeolu, Mercy Aigbe, GT the Guitar Man and Mr. Steve Nwosu who will be honoured as the Columnist of the Year at the event.

Organizers of the event say the award program is not for money-making, but for honouring those who have contributed positively to the society.
