Introducing MARA-IYEEP Mentorship Platform

By Adams Isaac

The Integrated Youth Economic Empowerment Program (IYEEP) is part of the transformation agenda and initiative of President Goodluck Jonathan administration, targeted at the teeming Nigeria youths between the ages of 18 and 35.

IYEEP is a strategic, integrated & information-based initiative for the empowerment of community and grassroots youths across Nigeria, the program is put in place as an essential tool that would promote leadership skills among the Youths through the implementation of deliberate and critical elements which include healthy behaviors, Socio-economic empowerment, skills acquisition, Self & individual community's sustainability.

The program is to be deployed across the nation's six (6) Geo-political zones in phases.

IYEEP is a Youth Transformation Initiative of President Goodluck Jonathan, spearheaded by the Office of the Special Adviser To the President on Youth Empowerment Ambassador Obi Adim. The program will encourage young entrepreneurs to embrace innovative ideas, envision the impossible, and ultimately transform Nigeria.

IYEEP also believes that mentorship is the key to addressing the gaps currently preventing young entrepreneurs from successfully starting, scaling and sustaining businesses.

Because of this belief, IYEEP and Mara foundation (Owned by the Youngest Billionaire in Africa Ashish Thakker) lunched the Mara-IYEEP Mentor Platform.

The Mara-IYEEP Mentor Platform allows young entrepreneurs to connect virtually with seasoned business leaders both locally and globally for advice and guidance. Part of the overall Mara-IYEEP initiative is to economically empower the Nigerian youth through the Mentor-ship Program, which provides incubation centers for SMEs and entrepreneurs who otherwise would not be able to afford professional office space.

The program further aims to provide comprehensive support services for the Youth through funding assistance for novel business ideas, incubation centers and workspace as well as continual business training.

Mara-IYEEP Mentor Platform most humbly through this letter seeks your support in order to drive this laudable programme by way of lending your voice to the publicity/awareness campaign of the programme. We intend to do jingles and advertisements that would feature short messages from your humble self.

Sir, you were identified because of the utmost concern and fervent commitment you have shown to the plight of the youth of our dear country and your most commendable efforts at trying to bring about a positive change to their lives.
