Umuahia Shooting: Ignore Rumors, Misinformation, Police Tells Citizens

The Abia State Police Command has urged the general public to disregard rumors and misinformation over  the shooting incident which took place on Saturday,February 15, 2014 at the old Umuahia main market, venue of the grand reception organized by the people of Ikwuano/ Umuahia federal constituency in honour of Gov. Theodore Orji.

In a telephone interview with our correspondent,  the Command's spokesman, Geoffrey Ogbonna, an Assistant Superintendent of Police, said the incident which led to the death of John Ndubuka, a cousin to the Governor's son, Engr. Chinedu Orji, has been greeted by a lot of insinuations and misinformation in the social and other media.

The Command calls on members of the public to ignore such unguided publications, assuring that te police is on top of the situation.

He disclosed that the three policemen who were found at the vicinity of the incident have been arrested and their rifle recovered, adding that the policemen are undergoing thorough investigation which would soon be made public. He assured that anyone found culpable will face the full wrath of the law.
