Interim National Vice Chairman, South East of the All Progressive Congress

(APC) says tension has gripped the Peoples Democratic Party in Abia state

because of the support the party (APC) has gotten in the state.

Anyim who spoke in a telephone interview with our correspondent while

reacting to reports of arrest of officials handling the registration of

members of the APC across the state, decried what he termed the

intimidation of members of his party.
“The PDP is aware that we will sack them from the Abia Government House in

2015. There is fear among them because they know the people are with us.

This is why they have become desperate by causing the arrest and detention

of our registration officials. This is the extent they have taken politics

to. The issue is that the PDP in Abia have become jittery because they

have seen that the APC will win the state in 2015. The signs are there

that Abia people have decided to back APC in 2015.”

Anyim who is believed to have his eyes on the Abia Governorship position

in 2015 called for an issue based politics rather one based on propaganda.

“Why can't people play politics based on issues rather than always telling

lie? Let them know that people of the state are tired of such lies. Last

time they said, APC has zoned presidency and running mate to the North and

South West zones, APC is not an Igbo party. All these lies are unbecoming.

I want them to tell me which one is an Igbo party? Is it the PDP? Until we

begin to play politics of issues of development, this country will still

remain the way it is. I thank God that Abia people are now wiser and with

the support the party has gotten, PDP will be history in Abia come 2015,”

Anyim said.
