Osun 2014: Omisore declares governorship intention, promises to transform state

Senator Iyiola Omisore Saturday in Osogbo, Osun State declared his intention to govern the state on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), as he launched his political campaign.

Addressing an unprecedented crowd at the Freedom Park, he highlighted his eight-point Agenda, which he said would be the focal point of his cardinal programmes, if elected governor on August 8.

In his words, 'My vision is to restore the dignity of education, health, food security and youth development, gainful employment and wealth creation, infrastructure, science and technology and environmental sustainability amongst others.

Continuing, he said: 'Agriculture and rural development, public service administration, monitoring and accountability, good governance, peace and security will be at the fore of my cardinal programmes.'

Speaking on his guiding principles, if voted governor, the former lawmaker said: 'Women, children, young people, men, the aged, as well as our people in rural and hard-to-reach areas, would have access to equal and fair productive and economic assets that can enable them live healthy and productive lives.'The leading governorship aspirant of the PDP also declared his strategies to move the state forward by developing viable human capital harnessing technology for growth, promoting partnerships, deepening regional co-operation and ensuring national integration.

The dignitaries who graced the event were former Senate Leader, Senator Teslim Folarin; former Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose; former Deputy Governor, Ogun State, Yeye Bosede Ogunleye; Prince Buruji Kashamu; and former National Deputy Chairman, PDP, Alhaji Shuabu Oyedokun, among others.
