PRESS STATEMENT ON THE APC GUERRILA STYLE OF REGISTRATION
All Progressive Grand Alliance APGA wishes to state that they did not find it funny when a National party like APC will condescend so low as to be using intimidation and blackmailing to gain membership.
It is absurd to note that APC LAGOS state through the leader SENATOR AHMED BOLA TINUBU instructed the daughter to implement such absurd policy .
The news said and I quote
“No APC Membership Card, No Trading In
Lagos. - Tinubu Warns Traders.
The leaders and chief funder of the All
Progressive Congress (APC), Asuwaju
Bola Ahmed Tinubu have warned Traders
doing business in Lagos state that they
will not be allowed to trade in the state if
they do not have the APC Membership
Registration card.
Worried at the embarrassing low turn out
of Lagosians for the APC members
registration exercise, Bola Tinubu has
issued a stern directive to his Daughter
Folashade Tinubu-Ojo, whom he installed
as the Iyaloja of Lagos (President-
General of Market Traders) to compel the
traders to register in APC.
Tinubu ordered the Iyaloja to tell the
traders that from henceforth, the license
to trade in Lagos will be the production of
an APC membership card.
As a result of what APC described as
disappointing turn-out of prospective
members, Party leadership have decided
to make it compulsory for residence in
states they are controlling to register as
APC members.
The Rivers state Governor, Mr Chibuike
Amaechi also warned Rivers state
residents that they will not be allowed to
use public health services (Hospitals) in
the state without an APC Membership
Registration card.”end of quote
APGA is making it clear that we cannot stand by and allow such an inhuman, insensitive, uncultured and hostile policy to be implemented ,having in mind that traders in question are IGBO TRADERS, they have freedom to choose who and where they will dwell , party to belong , and who to vote for.
We should all remember that with the numbers of Ndi igbo resident in Lagos ,Ndi igbo should be able to produce over 53% of members of the house of assembly in Lagos state and should,ve numbers of commissioners in any giving Government in Lagos state.
Ndi igbo with the numerical strength in SURULERE ,ORILE,FESTAC,AMUWO ODOFIN ,ALABA INTERNATIONAL AXIS INCLUDING OJO LOCAL GOVERNMENT should be producing LOCAL GOVERNMENT CHAIRMEN ,COUNCILLORS for the places mentioned above ,yet Ndi igbo never saw it as do or die affairs.
APC should not stroke this fire of destructive politics ,it is not what the nation need right now ,we should allow democracy to thrive and not for us to use intimidation to gain membership.
