Ex-ALGON Boss Threatens To Sue Fayose

A former Chairman, Association of Local Government of Nigeria, Toba Adaramola, has issued a 14-day ultimatum to former Ekiti State governor, Ayo Fayose, to apologise over a publication allegedly targeted at discrediting him or face legal action.

Adaramola, while addressing journalists in Ado Ekiti, the state capital on Wednesday, advised Fayose not to be desperate is in bid to emerge the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party for the 2014 governorship election in the state.

The former ALGON chief, who is a Senior Special Assistant to Governor Kayode Fayemi, was reacting to a letter he (Adaramola) was said to have written to the ousted national Chairman of PDP, Bamanga Tukur, and published in an advertorial in a national newspaper, on the need to adopt primary rather than selecting a candidate through consensus for the 2014 governorship election.

Adaramola said he privately wrote the letter to Tukur on September 17, 2012, while in Fayose's camp, saying it was rather embarrassing and fraudulent for the ex-governor to run the advertorial in 2014 without seeking his consent.

He said, “This is the high point of fraud and embarrassment to my person. This letter, which I believe has no consequential value, had been published twice. It baffles me that he could carry his desperation this far by publishing same now that he is aware that I am in the All Progressives Congress.

“Aside this, Tukur is no longer the Chairman of the party, so what purpose would it serve now that Alhaji Adamu Mu'azu is the new PDP Chairman?

“I want to believe that this character is not fit to govern Ekiti any longer.”

In a reaction, the Director of Publicity and Research, Ayo Fayose Campaign Organisation, Idowu Adelusi, said, “The reaction of Tope Adaramola over the letter he wrote, signed by him and personally delivered to Ayo Fayose Campaign Organisation as member of AFCO's Publicity Committee then, is a clear indication that he does not have integrity.

“Adaramola should first of all disown the content and signature on the letter.”
