Jonathan to declare open Enugu International Trade Fair Silver Jubliee

President Goodluck Jonathan will on March 28, 2014 declare open the silver jubilee edition of the Enugu international trade fair.

The Enugu Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines & Agriculture, ECCIMA, which made the disclosure yesterday said that the 25th international fair will take place between 28th March and 7th April 2014.

The theme of the silver jubilee fair is 'Increasing Competitiveness of Nigerian Products in the Global Market.'

President of ECCIMA, Dr. Ifeanyi Okoye said the fair will be the 5th in series to hold at the permanent site of the international trade fair complex and would be declared open by President Goodluck Jonathan.

Okoye noted that this year's fair will attract good number of corporate bodies/business organizations around the world as well as government agencies who have made very serious indications and commitment to participate.

He expressed hope that the fair will be unique as the chamber has put in place measures to ensure stable and quality supply of electricity and water, adding that two standby 500KVA generators have been stationed in event of public power supply failure.

Okoye stated that huge exhibition space are available and that it is consolidating efforts towards enhancing the specially designated area in the fair complex for exhibition of new products, prototypes, innovations and research findings for commercialization.

“This is to boost technological advancement by bringing researchers, business people and industrialists together. This is indeed one of the core focal points and cutting age of the Enugu International Trade Fair,' he said.

To boost the success of the fair, the chamber will commence sensitization tour next week to consolidate marketing with visits to stakeholders both in public and private sectors in Lagos, Abuja and across the South East/South-South States.

The Chamber's President who remained resolute that adequate security has been made to ensure safety of participants, disclosed that Enugu remains one of the most peaceful State in the country and pledged to sustain it even after the fair.
