The Edo house of assembly on Monday extended the tenure of the sole administrator of Orihonmwon local government council of the state by one month.

The extension followed the expiration of the two months earlier approved by the house in November 2013.

The house suspended the chairman and the legislative arm of the council for two months for allegedly embarking on an unauthorised foreign tour.

The extension was sequel to the reading of a letter from Governor Adams Oshiomhole to house on the report of the committee of inquiry on the tour.

Also, the house has called on the state government to urgently set up a visitation panel to look into the perennial problem facing the College of Education, Igueben.

Moving the motion under matters of urgent public importance, Mr Kingsley Ehigiamusor, member representing (PDP Igueben), said the recent protest embarked upon by the student and lecturers of the college calls for concern.

Ehigiamusor lamented that the college which was reopened for academic activities in 2006 had suffered non accreditation of courses.

According to him, the lecturers had taken to the street in protest for non payment of three months salaries.

All members supported the motion and sympathised with the student and lecturer adding that the students future were at risk.

The speaker Uyi Igbe, who also sympathised with the college, said “very clearly the matter is a sad one because the student cannot do anything with the certificate.'

Igbe therefore directed that copies of the resolution be sent to the provost of the college and the governor.
