Finally, Ibrahim Shekarau, former governor of Kano state and foundation member of the All Progressive Congress (APC) has concluded plans to join the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in his bid to remain politically relevant.

He will formally declare for PDP on Wednesday, our Correspondent authoritatively gathered.

Pointblanknews.com reports that Shekarau was boxed to a corner by the APC Mafias who wooed Governor Rabi'u Musa Kwankwaso into the party to boost its strength.

Though a reconciliation committee was set up by the APC national leadership, the peace-talk could not materialize as the two parties remain adamant in their demand.

One thing that continued to worry Shekarau, Pointblanknews.con gathered, was the fact that Kwankwaso, his age-long political rival emerged the leader of APC by his virtue as a sitting governor, a reality, Shekarau viewed as a pill too bitter to swallow.

Justifying Shekarau's movement to the PDP, one of his supporters who craved anonymity said: “well, I must tell you that we are bidding goodbye to APC because the party has been hijacked by some bad elements here in Kano. Remember that Malam Shekarau was one of the foundation members of the APC, but since they have decided to sideline us, we have no option than to look else where. We are leaving APC for good.”
