BEVERLY HILLS, CA, January 13, (THEWILL) - The Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt.

Victor Ochei, has given the assurance that everything required for the successful hosting of the 66th Executive Committee Board Meeting of the Africa Region of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association scheduled to commence tomorrow in Asaba has been put in place.

Hon Ochei who made the statement while welcoming members of the Commonwealth Women Parliamentarians, noted that expectations of the CPA meetings are aimed at setting agenda for the regional development of member countries in Africa, adding that the issues of legislation, gender inequality, youth development, employment generation in Africa as well as all sector of the economy including education and health issues will top agenda for the meetings.

The Speaker, who received the CPA delegates to the Assembly Complex, conducted the members round the new face of the Assembly Complex, observing that the meeting will be worthwhile as parliamentary issues, amongst others will be addressed to advance the cause of the region.

Accordingly, the Deputy Chief Whip of the Gombe State House of Assembly, Honourable Mela Danlele, who expressed satisfaction with the massive infrastructural transformation of the Assembly Complex, said that the Fifth Assembly of the Delta State Legislature, under the leadership of the Speaker, Rt.

Hon Victor Ochei is really working to give Deltans the needed results.

He noted with satisfaction that the present state of the Assembly Complex cannot be compared to the old edifice in 2011 during a visit to the complex, describing it as unique in the country.

Meanwhile Delegate Parliamentarians including Executive Committee members of the CPA, Africa Region, Regional Representatives, Commonwealth Women Parliamentarians, Sub-Regional Representatives, Branch Representatives, Sub National Branches, CPA International (Ex-Officio) and Regional Secretariat have arrived Asaba, the venue of the five-day meeting.
