Budget 2014: Amaechi, Kwane Real Enemies Of Rivers People

The Rivers State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, says the unconstitutional, kangaroo and criminal presentation, passage of the 2014 budget and ascent same day, in less than one hour, in spite of repeated denials by Leyii Kwane that few law makers loyal to Governor Rotimi Amaechi are not contemplating sitting in government house, outside the hallowed chamber of the Assembly, to receive, deliberate and pass the 2014 budget, has exposed them as the real enemies of Rivers State.

The PDP condemns Governor Rotimi Amaechi and Leyii Kwane who had at several fora denied, even in the morning of Tuesday January 7, 2014, a day democracy and the rule of law was slaughter on the alter of impunity, revelation by PDP of attempts to present and pass the 2014 budget in Government House, Port Harcourt.

Both Governor Rotimi Amaechi and Leyii Kwane are pathological lairs, lacking in character and credibility.

They owe Rivers people and indeed Nigerians an apology.

They are real messengers of darkness, enemies of democracy and Rivers people.

Governor Rotimi Amaechi has set false foundation in motion. The picture looks frightening for sure.

As a State, we have so many opportunities for greatness, but Governor Amaechi and the like of Leyii Kwane have chosen to take the path of infamy. They have rejected the road less travelled, the path of honour, heroism, and character and preferred the broad road way to corruption, abuse of power, cronyism, nepotism, debauchery, selfishness, and infamy.

Ameachi wants to control the resources of the State so badly, that he hates independent mind, and prefers stooges like Leyii Kwane around him.

By some account, if you reckon with revenue from federation account, internally generated revenue, excess crude, SURE-P, Rivers State gross revenue would be about three trillion naira, between, 2007 and 2013, but where is the money?

Rivers State is groaning of huge internal and external loans, debts owe contractors, unpaid budgetary allocations to Ministries, salaries and allowances of civil servants and promotions since 2007 and corruption is walking in the State like a colossus, unabated anymore.

Without sanction or the fear of it, impunity grows, worsened by allegations of high level official complicity and interference in the legislative and judicial processes.

We reaffirm our sincere desire to fight impunity of Amaechi's government, and call on Governor Rotimi Amaechi and the like of Leyii Kwane to apologise to Rivers people for deceiving them over the presentation of the 2014 budget.
