WHAT THIS GENERATION YOUTH CANNEVER LEARN FROM OUR CURRENT LEADERS IN NIGERIA

By SAMUEL IMOKHAI

This piece of satarizing didactic is not meant by any means to embellish a negative sobriquet to anyone, but to create a social, political, economic and moral esplanada and to eschew further and future leadership gaffe that may be bequeathed to the future generation through every means of learning.

As citizens or leaders,we owe ourselves every moral obligation to espouse goodwill with all sense of moral fibre even if it pierces a profound pain on our personal interest. It is not in doubt that the malevolence of all sorts playing around today in our country are not unconnected with the lack of leadership equipoise and equanimity which has abruptly left the governed in a perpetual hibernation with hot blind tears of unspeakable anguish.

Any individual saddled with the responsibility of overseeing any sector in this country is not oblivion of the fact that teachings are either directly or indirectly learnt by the future generation leaders of this country,as if such an individual is in doubt of this fact, the following should not be prattle of questions, but one that seek demonstrational answers ;Is the current level of leadership in this country the measure of our past rule? What can our future generation leaders learn, looking at the spate of our current leadership? And lastly, how can we have leaders who would be interested in the next generation rather than the next election?

If these questions cease lacking answers from anyone in the helm of affair in any sector in this country,a giant foot of change and this country's past tale of primitive savagery, current perpetual servitude and the gradual drive into a future of slavish dependence would to a large extend be solved,as no positive future thirty and driven leaders of a country would want to bequeath to its propitious expected " Leaders Of Tomorrow" a rotten system garnished with corruption. No compos mentis leader(s) can be raised in a society where criminality is a adorned, deviance is a norm, thievery is applauded, thieves are regarded as Heroes and institution prostitute their awards for political favours.Certainly no country can raise leaders driven by change in a country where many of its legislatures have become green to the fact that one of their constitutional legislative obligation is to educate the public but rather, the "Legislative Sacred House and Citadel" has been turned to a wrestling ground where Men are known by display of their physical strength and boxing prowess. The chances of a country raising change-oriented leaders who are impervious to the lack of leadership probity and decorum of their predecessors is very slim as it is luciferous to believe that a country can produce leaders in the future who would be willing to listen to the plight and stand by the governed in a spate of their lachrymose, when they(The future leaders) were been bequeathed power by predecessors who outrageously say to their governed "GO AND DIE" in the name of anger, but like Henry Beecher would say "Never forget what a man says to You when he is angry".

As it is expedient to put to immutable congnition the fact that 'Dogs do not give birth to Goats' so is it not possible to raise highly spirited ,genuinely compassionate and change-driven leaders by their contrary predecessors. It is germane to know that as leaders, any iota of leadership pecadillo you make today will not just wane as a mere act,but would go a long way in determining the crop of leaders our acts and actions would influence and as such,You can never be exonerated from being either directly or indirectly a beneficiary of such seed of leadership You have planted. Many countries including the United States Of America have had to tackle an egregious problem of nationhood, which it was obvious when it was realised that between 1861 and 1865 the U.S was in a civil war.Other nations in the world have also found themselves in a precarious deal with ethnic imbroglio, control of resources and other vices. The lesson taught by history to Nigeria is that most nations have consciously, nationalistically and patriotically paid attention to the problems of nation building that has bedevil their nations. The positive outcome of such nations have been a product of visionary, dedicated and trustworthy leadership mobilizing the people with a view to achieving a common goal. As long as greed, religious bigotry, ethnocentrism, avarice, high glutton for canal prodigalilities continue to be the best ragalia worn by anyone that finds himself in any seat of power of any sector in this country;Personal ambition will continue to dominate the vision of those we give our collective patrimony and we will continue to breed recycling leaders of unproductive show.
