APC A Party Of Hypocrites, Desperate Power Hungry Politicians—Adeyeye

By Prince Dayo Adeyeye Movement

Afenifere Chieftain and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship aspirant in Ekiti State, Prince Dayo Adeyeye has described the visit made to former President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo by leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as "a further demonstration of the party's shameless hypocrisy and desperation for power."

He said; "By going to woo former President Obasanjo, a man they had called several unprintable names to come and join their party, the APC people have further demonstrated that they lack any clear cut ideology and are only interested in taking over governance in Nigeria for their selfish gains."

Adeyeye, in a statement issued in Ise-Ekiti, his country home today, noted that Nigerians have seen that "the only thing driving the APC people is quest for power and as it is, they won't mind teaming up with Judas Iscariot, or even the devil himself to achieve it."

The governorship aspirant said; "in 1983, General Mohammadu Buhari truncated democracy in Nigeria; and went on to jail several politicians, including the National Chairman of the APC, Chief Bisi Akande, with ridiculous jail terms of 25, 50, 100, 150 and 200 years.

"If today, Buhari, who jailed Baba Bisi Akande and other second republic politicians from the Southern part of Nigeria for no just cause is now addressed as a progressive because he joined APC, even that notorious armed robber, Shina Rambo would have become a progressive by simply joining the APC if he was still alive."

Speaking further, Adeyeye said; "Nigerians should be reminded of how former Lagos State Governor, Senator Bola Tinubu described Chief Obasanjo on December 8, 2011.

"Then, Tinubu said; 'What integrity has Obasanjo in terms of his legacies for Nigeria to speak on elections? Apart from his aborted third term ambition, he brought about and left a legacy of electoral corruption in the country. What is Obasanjo talking about? He should go away and retire in shame politically. He should leave the political landscape of this country alone. He brought a whole salad of corruption, manipulation and failures.'

"However, yesterday (Saturday), the same Tinubu said; 'Obasanjo should lead APC mission to rescue Nigeria. You have come out of tribulation and held the highest position in this country. We are here because of your courage and salient points. Nobody can say he has information more than you.

"Isn't this the highest level of political hypocrisy and desperation for power?

"Nigerians should therefore reject these desperate power hungry politicians in the APC and continue to support President Goodluck Jonathan, who has no doubt allowed democracy to flourish in Nigeria by allow all organs of government to function without his interference."
