The National Union of Road Transport Workers has called on both the federal and Niger State governments to rehabilitate all major roads leading to the Niger State capital, Minna.

The National President of the union, Gidado Hamman, in an interview in Abuja on Monday, described the Abuja- Minna road as ''terribly bad”

“Travelling to Minna from Abuja used to take less than two hours but today you would spend more than four hours because the road is so bad; you would see potholes and what have you all over the place.”

He said that while the Federal Road Maintenance Agency had started preliminary work on the rehabilitation of some portions of the road, the effort has made the road more dangerous.
