In an interview with our correspondent, National Chairman of the group, Okey Paul Nwankwo maintained that justice demands that Abia South senatorial zone should produce the next governor of the state, stressing that since Senator Nwaogu comes from the same Abia central senatorial zone as Gov. Theodore Orji, she cannot succeed the latter.

“We are calling on our sister, Senator Nkechi Nwaogu to drop her governorship ambition because it is not in the interest of Abia state and Ukwa/ Ngwa land in particular. Her ambition will set Abia satte backwards. She cannot succeed the governor having come from the same zone. A son of Abia South zone should succeed Gov. Theodore Orji in the interest of justice and unity of the state.  The earlier senator Nwaogu heeds this call the better for her because I know she would labour in vain as far as the Abia governorship race is concerned.”

Nwankwo who hails from Isiala Ngwa North LGA added that the lawmaker has had a fair of the support of the people of the state having been in the National Assembly since 2003 and should step down for others.

“Senator Nwaogu was at the House of Representatives from 2003 to 2007 and now at her second tenure at the senate since 2007, what does she want again? Senator Nwaogu should allow others contribute their quota. Even she insist on contesting for governor, she should wait until rotates to Abia Central again.”

Nwankwo further used the opportunity to urge Gov. Orji to consider the agitations by various to run for senate to represent Abia Central zone in 2015, stressing that his accomplishments makes him the best choice for the position.
