Borno Governor's Wife Sparkles Christian Widows At Christmas

WIFE OF BORNO STATE GOVERNOR, HAJIYA NANA KASHIM-SHETTIMA (R) n BEVERLY HILLS, CA, December 16, (THEWILL) - About 100 Christian widows in Borno State have benefitted from the goodwill of the wife of Borno State governor, Hajiya Nana Kashim Shettima. On Monday, the Borno First Lady donated some food items , wrappers and money to the widows from  Maiduguri and Jere so that they could celebrate the Christmas. Each beneficiary was given  a bag of rice, spaghetti, cooking oil, two set of wrappers and N2,000 as transportation at the occasion. Speaking during the presentation of the items to the widows at the Government House in Maiduguri, Hajiya  Shettima noted that the initiative  was part of efforts of her pet project, Support for Women Orphans and Tsangaya (SWOT), aimed at touching the lives of the needy in the state . "As a foundation, we don't have any political, religious or gender inclination, but to serve humanity. Reaching out to the needy at the time of need is considered the most useful and appropriate, since we all know that we live by what we get, we believe we will make live better by what we give." "Peace is not the absence of conflict, but the ability to handle conflict by peaceful means.WUomen are peaceful, home builders and the backbone of the society and called on them to pray for the total restoration of peace and inculcate good moral behaviours in their children for the betterment of the society," she said at the occasion. The chairman of  SWOT Foundation, Alhaji Mohammed Bello, in an earlier remark,  noted that the chairperson of the  Foundation, Hajiya   Shettima,  has sympathy for the masses, especially widows, orphans and Tsangaya/Almajiris. He said  the gesture is part of  Hajiya  Shettima's  passion and love for the less-privileged members of the society, stressing that she always love to extend the   gesture during   Sallah and Christmas so as to make the less privileged in the society happy. The president of the Borno State  Christian Widows Association, Mrs. Asabe Ladagu, in her vote of thanks, expressed gratitude  to  Hajiya  Shettima for  her  kindness and love to them  during times of need. She disclosed that the members of her association had   never felt it so good  until  Governor Kashim Shettima came to power, saying  the SWOT Foundation  has always been of help  in time of need as she prayed to God to continue to guide  Governor Shettima and his wife, and to  restore total peace back to the troubled state.
