Nigerian Army Moves To Liberate Boko Haram Conscripts

BEVERLY HILLS, CA, December 14, (THEWILL) -  The Nigerian Army said on Saturday that it is set to liberate many youths forcefully conscripted by Boko Haram insurgents in the Northeastern part of the country. Disclosing that several Boko Haram insurgents were killed in a recent confrontation between the terrorists and the Nigerian troops in Borno State, the Army also said it was on the trail of the terrorists  to free many Nigerian youths forcefully conscripted and indoctrinated into terrorism. A statement by the spokesman of the 7 Division of the Nigerian Army, Maiduguri, Col. Muhammad Dole, said: "The Air bombardment of insurgents' hideouts in Mainok and Mada general areas of Kaga and Konduga Local Government Areas by the Nigerian Air Force claimed the lives of some Boko Haram terrorists. "The terrorists were seen conducting burial funeral for their dead members around Mudube village. "In a related operations, troops of 7 Division had an encounter with Boko Haram insurgents along Maiduguri-Bama-Gwoza road for two hours during which eight Boko Haram terrorists were killed, three vehicles and three AK 47 rifles were burnt, while scores of others fled with various degrees of injuries." According to Dole,  the Nigerian Army has dealt a serious blow on the ranks of the insurgents from the  recent clampdown by the military. "Recently, due to increased offensive operations by ground and air against the terrorists, the attacks resulted in serious decimation of Boko Haram fighters,"he said. According to him,  this has made the sect to forcefully conscript some youth which the military have embarked on the task to free. "This forced them (Boko Haram) to embark on forceful conscription of youths and abduction of women from vulnerable villages into their folds. The troops are on their trail to ensure safe release of these captives," he said. Dole also  added :  "The General Officer Commanding 7 Division Nigerian Army, Major General Obidah Ethan has reiterated that the Division is poised to decimating the Boko Haram terrorists wherever they are, and continue to appreciate the continuous support and cooperation of the general public."
