Sen. Grace Bent on Thursday called for the election of a female vice president in the country.

Bent, a former senator from Adamawa, said this in Abuja while speaking to newsmen at the inauguration of the Governing Council of the Africa's first cultural tourism television reality show tagged 'Jewel of Africa'.

She said that it was high time the female folks allowed to drive the affairs of the country together with their male counterpart.

She said that women had a lot to contribute to re-direct the affairs of the country.

“Women should be allowed to take the front seat in this country; we have a lot to contribute; we want to be part of decision making and not only serving as ministers and advisers.'

She said that the men folk had dominated the country since independence; hence, women should be allowed to take shot at the vice presidential seat.

The former senator said that women were no longer comfortable taking the back seat.

According to her, the nation’s problems can be addressed with the contribution of women if giving the opportunity to occupy the vice presidential seat.

She said that the nation’s cultural affiliation should not be allowed to go into extinction, adding that the 'Jewel of Africa' TV reality show would provide a better platform for cultural orientation.
