The Niger Delta Renaissance Organisation (NDRO) has called on the people of Anambra state not to mortgage their rights and that of their children unborn by voting for any other party aside the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) in the supplementary elections scheduled to hold on Saturday the 30th of November 2013.

The group in a Press Statement signed by its National Coordinator, Comrade Nwokoma Messiah and its Director of Mobilisation Mr. Goodluck James said it is aware of the plans by the All Progressive Congress (APC) and its governorship candidate Dr. Chris Ngige to turn Ndi Igbo and the Niger Deltans to second class citizens if they eventually succeed in taking over government.

The group said this plan is evident in the marriage between the ACN and the CPC a marriage that metamorphosed into the All Progressive Congress (APC), further pointing out that the APC was using the Anambra election to sound out its capacity to cause an upset in the forthcoming 2015 general elections in the country.

The group warned that any mistake on the part of Ndi Anambra that leads to the election of a ''candidate that will mortgage the rights of its people will be catastrophic and highly regrettable''.

According to it, Anambra State which is generally regarded as a pilot state in the south East and the epitome of the struggle for better deal for the Igbos and therefore requires a candidate that is in tune with the expectations of the people.

The group said Chris Ngige through his defence of the deportation of Igbos by the APC led Lagos State government had clearly shown the kind of leader he was.

The Niger Delta Renaissance Organisation also said its decision to support the APGA governorship candidate is because he has the capacity to continue with the good works of Peter Obi especially in attracting federal projects to the state.

The group also said it remains grateful to the contributions of Anambra people to the electoral victory of President Jonathan and also expressed optimism that ''the support will get better whenever Mr. President finally yields to the plea of our people and authentic progressive elements across the country by declaring for second term'' the statement read.
