Voters Call For Free And Fair Election As NECO Cancels Examination In Anambra

Voters for today's election at Nnewi and Onitsha as well as Nibo, in Awka South local government area and Adazi-Ani are set to vote even as they called for a free and fair election.


Community Leader, Chief Charles Okey Nwankwo (Idejiogwugwu-Nibo) and a community leader Chief Uche Onyilofor appealed to voters not to be violence since Anambra is the only state for everybody after the election. They appealed to voters to come out today and participate in the voting even as they warned youths to shun all forms of provocation that will lead to fight but to vote peacefully and protect their votes after voting.

President General of Nibo community, Mr Okey Goodluck Nwankwo and a community leader Chief Tony Omeligwe Elee assured youths that good name is better than money hence they should not allow that money to allow money to destroy the election INEC and every other relevant body has been preparing for since last year .

Comrade Ifeanyi Okpala from Adazi-Ani and Chief Okey Okoye , expressed optimism that many Anambra citizens resident outside Anambra are back to participate in the election.


Meanwhile the Odinma Anambra North Youths Initiative (ODIANYI) the authentic Umbrella body of all youths in the Anambra North Senatorial zone of Anambra State yesterday insisted warned all youths in Anambra state not to allow themselves be used for any form of violence but to vote and return to their homes peacefully or watch their votes peacefully.


The youth group in a crowded press conference at their headquarters opposite Dolly Hill Hotel 3-3 Nkwelle Ezunaka Oyi Local government area jointly addressed by the Chairman of the group Hon Tony Obiora Okafor, Secretary Mr. Tochukwu Ikwuemesi, (B. O.T) Chairman Mr. Paul Onyeka and Woman Leader Ijeoma Aguegbo said that any compromise by the youths will derail the election.


They asked the public to disregard statements from one Chief Augustine Anekwe who they said is not a member of organization as he has been suspended for misappropriation.


They warned members of the Public to beware of Mischief- Makers who don't wish the people of Anambra well but are bent of frustrating the governorship poll. They enjoined every citizen to voter according to his conscience today and avoid looking at money bags.


This is coming as there was confusion in the state following the cancellation of the NECO examination billed for today in various centers in Anambra state as well as across the federation. Thousands of students who did not hear the information were suspecting that those who heard the information about its cancellation were deceiving them.

Thus making the NECO state officer in Anambra , Mr John Tumba to buy air time to inform the state on the development as he confirmed to the Nation efforts they put in place to douse the tension and confusion.
