Politiking In The Midst Of Security Challenges

The appearance of Campaign posters of Engr. Ibrahim Mohammed Bukar Abuna the Borno State Commissioner of Works and Transport on all roundabouts of Maiduguri the state capital announcing his intention to contest for senate in 2015 despite the current state of insecurity in Borno does not only show the Commissioners insesitivity to peoples feelings but also how power hungry he is.

While Governor Kashim Shettima and other members of his cabinet are working tirelessly to see that normalcy returns to the state, the Commissioner is busy feathering his nest even if Borno is consumed if his ambition could be realized.

It is a sad commentry that even after the Borno state Governor had made it clear that what is important at the moment should be to seek ways of returning peace to the state the inordinate ambition of the commissioner has betrayed his real self to the people.

No sooner had his posters hit the streets then the people began to cryout to the high heavens calling on God to come yo their rescue as it will be disaster if the man is allowrd to contest at all.

With this flagrant disregard to procedure on the part of Engr. Ibrahim Mohammed Bukar Abuna the people of Borno have comeout with full gorce to call on Governor Kashim Shettima to drop him from the stste Executive Council so that he could carry on his politiking.

The people are also unanimous in calling on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to bar him for good as he has jumped the gun by declaring his intention even when the guideline has not been issued.
