Obi's Aide Calls For The Arrest Of Dr. Chris Ngige

By Mazi Odera

The Senior Special Assistant to Governor Peter Obi on Media and Publicity has called for the immediate arrest of Dr. Chris Ngige and the Deputy Director, Media and Publicity of his Campaign Organization, Mr. Okelo Madukaife over the accusation that “fake Police and NYSC uniforms were being sewn in Anambra State Government House by APGA for those they are recruiting to wear them on election day to camouflage as policemen and Corps members to perpetrate fraud.”

Obienyem said that the accusation was weighty enough that by now, Dr. Chris Ngige and his aide that made the accusation should be helping the police to get to the root of the matter. Obienyem said that failure to act would be a grave omission on the part of security agencies since any charlatan can bandy any accusation bordering on criminality for political purposes as, according to him, Dr. Chris Ngige is notorious at doing.

Obienyem said that in a country where security is methodical that Ngige should be under perpetual surveillance for always nursing criminal tendencies, especially when he raises alarm.

“Ngige's history is clear that whenever he plans to commit crime, say, to slap somebody, he will start shouting in advance that everyday has been slapping him. Two weeks ago, he started shouting that his billboards were being removed by Anambra State Government, and those of us that have followed his antecedents knew he was planning something sinister. Shortly after that, 90% of APGA billboards were either removed or defaced with black oil. In the relapse under question, he has started shouting that Police and NYSC uniforms were being sewn at Government House. What that portends is that Ngige is planning to do exactly the same”, Obienyem said.

On the allegation by the PDP that APGA was suborning INEC, Obienyem said that the common attack of all the political parties on APGA is simple a confirmation that they are all afraid of APGA.

Clearly the alarm these people are raising borders on criminality. We shall be delighted to know if they have reported to the Police for that is what a responsible citizen is expected to have done, for the police to arrest those involved and avoid their going into hiding or running away, which public publication will only achieve.

Obienyem said it was regrettable that a person of Ngige's stature had refused to respect himself by always putting up behavior that questions his integrity, decorum and sense of right and wrong.
